Apart from being Chief Coordinator of KRAPAVIS, a few other professional assignments include; 1991-94 worked as Principal Investigator on an environmental project supported by SDC/ IC, August 1995 to December 1997- I was associated with an international organization “South South Solidarity” involved in UNICEF and IDRC, supported three environmental “eco-health” studies, and during 1998-1999, CRS-Overseas Development Agency gave me the responsibility to look after its Rajasthan Programme related to agriculture, watershed management and programmatic environmental assessment (PEA).

Chief Coordinator cum Founder of “Krishi Avam Paristhitiki Vikas Sansthan” (KRAPAVIS); an organization for ecology and agriculture development; working in arid and semi – arid bioregions in Rajasthan. The overall goal of KRAPAVIS is “to the betterment of ecology and promotion of sustainable agriculture and livestock development practices; with a view of sustainable livelihoods of rural communities in Rajasthan”. KRAPAVIS is in its fourteenth years of existence; it has contributed to bringing about quality changes in numerous villages through ecology, “Oran” conservation, agriculture and animal husbandry development activities, especially for the backward and poor rural women. KRAPAVIS has been supported by several international and national agencies like United Nations Development Programme (UNDP/GEF), Australian High Commission, Canadian High Commission, Switzerland High Commission/ Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC), MISREOR Germany, Kaningsschool Foundation/ Both Ends Netherlands, Ministry of Environment and Forest, Ministry of Human Resources and Development Govt. of India. KRAPAVIS has linked with several NGOs and government departments / technical institutions. ASHOKA: The Global Association of Leading Social Entrepreneurs has selected me to the “Ashoka Fellowship” for my entrepreneurial skill and in recognition of my work in the field of the environment. The UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) Geneva selected me and included my name on its roster of qualified professional candidates as an environmental specialist of the UNV programme. I have received several sponsorships/ fellowships from different international agencies like UNDP, UNOCHA, Schumacher College U.K., and the Ford Foundation etc.

Masters degree in Science (M.Sc.) during 1987-89 and Training in Environmental Education (TEE) in 1989-90. Attended several training courses/ workshops on Bioregionalism, Environment and Ecology in India, England (UK), Scotland, Kenya, Ethiopia, Bulgaria and France. I have written more than 100 articles/ features/ case-studies on the rural environment and Oran (traditional forests) issues, including authoring about 9 monographs on Oran and ecological issues.
