Title: Climate and Energy Campaigner

Biography:

Duygu completed her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations in 2003 and completed her Master’s degree in International Economic Relations. Her professional expertise covers policy monitoring and international advocacy on sustainable land management issues. She was the Deputy Head for International Relations at the largest national environmental NGO in Turkey until the end of 2015. She will start working for Greenpeace Mediterranean (in August 2016) as their Climate and Energy Campaigner. Meanwhile, she is trying to build her own association to support local initiatives. Duygu wants to find a way to make the public aware that their choices in life have an impact on the environment. With the urgency to act on many of the global challenges like soil degradation, climate change and biodiversity loss, Duygu would like the public to take and demand action. This, in return, can cause demand side pressure on businesses and voter choice pressure on political leaders.
