The course fee for the 2021 Beahrs ELP is US$5,640. This is reduced from the regular $8,000 fee because this year we do not need to provide housing, meals, or physical classroom space. What is included in this fee is the costs of instruction (including added costs of having to create an entirely new curriculum for the online program), course materials, online infrastructure and licensing, and the certificate. There is also no need for participants to secure a visa, airfare, or any travel arrangements (such as insurance) this year, and we hope that will help ease the cost burden.
Program participants are responsible for seeking their own funding. Participants are encouraged to seek funding from their employers, local /national government, non-governmental agencies at the local, regional and international level as well as sponsorship from foundations.
Beahrs ELP Scholarships
The Beahrs ELP at UC Berkeley has resources to offer a limited number of scholarships. The scholarships are awarded on a combination of merit, need, and availability of funds. We are looking for candidates who will further the mission of the Rausser College of Natural Resources to ensure economic and ecological sustainability for future generations. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, you must indicate this in your application, or else you will not be considered. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee an award to all participants, nor any specific amount.
Beahrs ELP Fellows Program
In addition to the partial scholarships we offer, our donors have created special fellowships for outstanding professionals. The number and amounts of this scholarship vary each year. We will select the fellowship recipients from those who indicated their financial needs in their application.
